Lorie Hamelin is the WP leader of work package 4, and is involved in all work packages of the project. Her key expertise lies in performing high quality consequential life cycle assessments for a variety of systems, particularly biosystems. She graduated from Laval University (Canada) with an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering and from University of Southern Denmark with a PhD in Environmental Technology. Lorie is now employed in the International Life Cycle Group of University of Southern Denmark as a postdoc researcher in Carbon Management & Bioresources. She has an overall track record of 40 scientific publications, including 5 articles in A journals, and have presented her work in more than 25 international & national events (including 7 invited presentations). Lorie has been actively involved in a variety of EU and Danish strategic research projects, three of which she was work package leader. This includes projects on animal feed, manure management technologies as well as bioenergy and land use changes. In connection with her professional activities, she has been involved in various boards and advisory committees, both at the national and European level, including the “technical working group” (TWG) for the revision of the BREF on intensive rearing of poultry and pigs, carried out by the European IPPC Bureau. As a result, she has a wide network within manure, bioenergy, land use changes, and agri-environment research. Lorie speaks English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Danish.
